SEASON 01 / SKILL-BASED HIRING

BUILD.COMPETE.GET HIRED.

The Developer Games is a skills-first hiring experience where engineers solve real challenges, demonstrate how they think, and earn the opportunity to join our development team.

No generic screening. No cover-letter theatre. Show us what you can build.

Tracks: Frontend, Backend, Full-stack, AI & Data, DevOps, Mobile.

01THE IDEA

Your CV tells us where you have been. The Games show us what you can do.

We believe strong developers should be evaluated through real thinking, practical decisions, and the quality of what they build—not only by keywords on a résumé.

02THE TRACKS

Choose your discipline

Four primary tracks. One practical standard.

T.01TRK-01 / UI

Frontend Engineering

Build polished interfaces, translate design into systems, and create fast, accessible product experiences.

React / Next.js / TypeScript / UI Engineering / Performance

T.02TRK-02 / SYS

Backend Engineering

Design resilient services, model data clearly, and solve problems that continue working beyond the happy path.

APIs / Node.js / Databases / Architecture / Reliability

T.03TRK-03 / E2E

Full-stack Engineering

Own complete features from interface to infrastructure while making pragmatic technical decisions.

Product Thinking / Frontend / Backend / Integrations

T.04TRK-04 / ML

AI and Data

Turn data and intelligent systems into useful, measurable product capabilities.

  4. ST-04

    Meet the team

Strong submissions move directly into a focused conversation with our engineering team.

04SAMPLE CHALLENGES

Challenge previews

ILLUSTRATIVESample briefs that show the level and style of the Games. Live challenges are issued after you enter.

Recreate a responsive product interface from a visual reference while maintaining accessibility and performance.

  • BACKEND / 75 MIN / SYSTEMSSAMPLE

    API Under Pressure

Investigate an unstable endpoint, identify its failure modes, and improve its behaviour under realistic load.

  • FULL-STACK / 90 MIN / ARCHITECTURESAMPLE

    System Design Sprint

Design a practical technical approach for a product feature with real constraints, trade-offs, and future growth.

06EVALUATION

How submissions are read

Every submission is reviewed by engineers against four criteria. No keyword filters, no automated rejections.

  1. C-01

    Correctness

Does the solution solve the actual problem reliably?

  2. C-02

    Code quality

Is the implementation understandable, maintainable, and appropriately structured?

  3. C-03

    Decision-making

Are trade-offs identified and explained clearly?

  4. C-04

    Product thinking

Does the solution consider usability, performance, and the person using it?

SCALE / SCHEMATIC — CRITERIA ARE WEIGHTED BY CONTEXT, NOT SHOWN SCORES
